Our 1st Veggie Garden – Week 6 – Our First Harvest

Well it’s official.  I have become a domesticated housewife!

This week we were able to harvest our first crops!

2 very pale, oddly shaped cucumbers.
2 normal cucumbers and 1 Beefsteak tomato.
On the right is Fern Leaf Dill and Lemon Balm

While this may not seem like a large bounty, it was more than enough to whip up a salad as a light dinner for us.  Doesn’t this look yummy!!

Not too much else going on this week.  We have 3 Cherry tomatoes and 3 Big Boys but they are no where near ready for picking.  There are over a dozen Beefsteaks, but I don’t see them being picked for at least 2 weeks.

Of course the herbs are going crazy.  There is no way we are going to use all the Basil.

We’ve learned a lot our first season of veggie growing and have already started batting around changes we will be making for next year.
