Regretfully, Lily’s bites while decreasing in frequency began increasing in fierceness. After a moderate bite on Thursday, Friday night delivered an extremely vicious unprovoked attack resulting in a trip to the Urgent Care Clinic.
It broke our heart, but we were left with no alternatives other than to have her put to sleep. We spent our final morning with her walking around the lake letting her sniff every leaf she wanted too. We stayed with her so my face and voice would be the last thing she would experience.
I am both grief stricken and heart broken. I can’t believe I fell so hard for this little lady. I have never had a dog that had so much love to give and wanted to be loved so much, yet for some reason couldn’t stop lashing out. It’s saddens me that something happened to such a wonderful animal that resulted in this type of behavior. We have cried more in the past 3 days than we have in the past 5 years.
We only had her for a couple of months, but she had an impact on my heart that will never be forgotten. Jerry & I miss her terribly.
